Angelica Panganiban (born Angelica Panganiban) is a Filipino American actor, TV host, comic and host. Panganiban, who is known as "the the new the queen of dramatic" by a variety of media outlets in the Philippines, is one of the most well-known and versatile actresses. The youngest contestant on the show's history, she came in second. Angelica Hale suffered from double pneumonia in 2012. She was 4 at when she was diagnosed. Her disease was a severe strain of the strep bacteria. Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Egleston was able to place her on ECMO support for lifesaving treatment. The kidneys of her did not heal after she developed an infection that was septic and she suffered numerous organ failure. Peritoneal dialysis, and then hemolysis became her new normal. After an 80-day hospital stay Angelica nearly died after which she began a journey towards recuperation. After a year and a half of dialysis, Angelica was ready to undergo the biggest surgery she had ever undergone- her kidney transplant. It was her own mother who would donate the kidney. Angelica and her mother had the surgery to remove their kidneys successfully on the 13th of September, 2013, at Emory University Hospital and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Egleston, two hospitals that are located next to each other. Angelica Hale pursued her dream of becoming a celebrity for years after.
